Accelerating ventures of Colgate entrepreneurs who are solving big problems

The Entrepreneurs of Fund was established at Colgate in 2013 to grow the ventures of Colgate student/alumni entrepreneurs who are solving big problems and have demonstrating an ability to execute.

A grant of $15,000 will be given to each of the winning teams to help bring their ventures to commercial viability while incubating in Hamilton, New York. The number of awardees will be decided based on the quality of the venture and team, not based on a quota. The fund is open to for-profit and not-for-profit ventures with at least one Colgate member on the founding team.

Ventures will be judged by Alumni & Parent Entrepreneurs on a number of different criteria, including; demonstrated ability to execute, team dynamics, commercial and/or social impact, impact of problem being solved and solution proposed, viability of bringing the project to fruition, stage of development, etc. We are seeking more than just an idea; prototypes and customers are a plus, as is additional interest and support from outside investors.

Those receiving awards from the ENY Fund will live in the village of Hamilton for two months, maintain intellectual property rights, be provided with office space, and participate in a “Road Show” in the fall to New York and Boston to attract additional investor interest. Teams will also have access to entrepreneurial mentors in the Colgate Community and the regional startup ecosystems in Central New York.

We look forward to reviewing your applications. Awardees will be announced on April 10th @ Colgate's Entrepreneurs Weekend.
