Again mange to capture nutrition from urine under very different circumstance. Their technique work in low tech, of grid and cheap sanitary solutions as well as in more developed environments. It also works on different scales which makes it a perfect innovation for a changing global market. The team behind the innovation is very competent and persistent. The innovation is mature and ready to meet market needs and be a part of the new circular economy around food and nutrition as well as securing safe sanitation for those without.
Best recommendations!! Again’s innovation to support source separation of sanition waste stream, is extremely important. It reduces the volume of the waste and turns it into a very attractive fertilizer product.
I have worked with reuse-oriented sanitation for almost 20 years and know that the management, for example of source-separated urine, is logistically challenging. Even though it contains the majority of the nutrients in the sanitation waste streams, it also contains a lot of water, which makes storage and transport to the cultivation difficult. It also turns urine into a more attractive and marketable product, which is important to improve acceptance for reuse. Hence the innovative technology that Again has developed is very promising.
I have had the pleasure to follow the development of Again during the last couple of years and I can warmly recommend them for the TBC Accelerator program.

Again has a a high impact technology that could improve the sanitation system.
About seven years ago, I was in contact with an NGO in Mexico that worked with eco-sanitation. The first thing that they told me was that the sanitation system had to be transformed from linear to circular, then they told me that dry urine could be a great fertiliser. They were hunting a simple technology that could enable them to dry the urine from their sanitation facilities. Exactly this is the technology that Again has created and patented, with many years of research work to back it up. This technology needs to reach those who are working to revolutionise the sanitation system and make it more sustainable before it is too late.
I highly recommend Again for the Toilet Board Coalition Accelerator, for them to be supported in accelerating they way to market.
