AGRISHARES

AGRISHARES aims at building a collaborative consumption marketplace (or ‘sharing economy’) in agriculture. It is a socio-economic system built around the sharing of goods and services by different people and organisations. AGRISHARES matches renters’ needs and owners’ spare assets and resources. It is not limited only to physical assets or machinery, it can be also a service, or a pure resource (human or physical). A farmer or an organisation is paying for the benefit from using a product without needing to own/buy the product outright – the marketplace provides access without ownership. On the other side owners rent out something they are not using to another user through peer-to-peer services. AGRISHARES will increase usage of existing agricultural machinery, equipment and other resources. The main goal is to optimize efficiency and reduce costs for both sides – owners and renters. The principle has been already successfully implemented in other domains (e.g. transport means, real estate, infrastructures).
