First mover voice-to-data software innovation to solve a critical legacy manual gap in the industry surrounding today’s food, crop & animal specialists, machinery technicians, and farm operators, that must capture complex data while on-the-go, but have no current way of doing it in real time for staying competitive within an increasingly digitized industry.

For regulatory compliance and farm-to-table source tracking, the traditional methods such as data recording via pen and paper, typing or touch-screen input are now antiquated, due to being cumbersome, time-consuming and error-prone; costing 20%+ of time per day for these professionals doing manual data entry and uploading to their respective companys’ backend databases.

An Ag professionals carries an array of equipment as they drive from farm to farm and walk between fields or animal production facilities. Nearly 90% carry a smartphone (iOS or Android) as well as clipboards, notepads or tablets for noting their insights as they happen; and tools necessary to perform their core job functions inspecting crops or animals. The common issue is that they must stop their hands-on work in order to take out their clipboard and pen or tablet to record insights, then put the devices away safely to refocus on the main task at hand.
By the end of their work day, the Ag professionals have visited multiple farms or animal production facilities. (Our primary research showed that Ag professionals also spend an average of 30% of their year driving between farms, counties, or states - all of which is non-productive time.) They then combine and transpose the information captured during their field visits into an online report which must be uploaded into their Ag enterprise's backend systems.
The cumulative effect of this manual data capture and transfer into templates or reports are three-fold:
(1) The Ag professional can spend 1-2 hours of an 8-hour workday just doing manual data capture and report building.
(2) Information is incomplete and inaccurate when the information triage/checkoff happens at the end of the day, which leads to blanket applications of water, pesticides, and fertilizer where precision application would cut waste, costs, and environmental expense.
(3) Ag professionals can take anywhere between 1- 5 business days to get the manually captured information into their Ag Enterprise's backend systems/databases - which is a critical timing gap for the Ag Enterprise.

I highly recommend AGVOICE. I firmly believe their technology will impact the Ag Ops aspect of traditional farming operations. Their product will allow large numbers of workers to easily use technology to improve efficiency and gather critical information.

I've known Bruce for over a decade as a partner at IBM and NCR and now as he's building a solid team and technology for the startup AgVoice. Exciting opportunities for this market and others.

We have been tracking and working with AgVoice for the past year. We knew then, as we do now, that their team was passionate, capable, and possessed the necessary areas of expertise to make this a success. The technology has always demonstrated significant potential, but has now matured to the point of being a viable player in a market that's clamoring for innovation. These guys have the team, technology, and path forward to enact real change in an industry that is demanding it.
