Aid One has developed and brought to market the Aid One Cover: new kind of hands-on first aid tool that helps any bystander act in an emergency. It is a double-sided cover with life-sized infographic instructions for helping an unconscious person: the green side for breathing and the red for non-breathing victims.

The green side guides in performing the recovery position, after which the cover can be used to keep the victim warm while waiting for paramedics to arrive. The red side guides in giving CPR, with an integrated chest-piece further helping to find the correct place for chest compressions.

The Aid One Cover is more intuitive and hands-on than any guiding tools on the market, while more affordable than electronic devices like AEDs. Speaking for its novelty, the concept came second in BraunPrize (one of the world’s most prestigious product design competitions) in 2012 out of 1850 applications. Accordingly, patent applications are now pending both for Europe and USA.

Accordingly, patent applications are now pending both for Europe and USA.

After over a year of product development with experts from e.g. the Finnish Red Cross and the Center for Occupational Safety as well as doctors, ambulance drivers, paramedics and ordinary people, the Aid One Cover was launched in early 2015. Currently 150 covers have been sold to companies (e.g. Kone, Fennia, Bemis, Nordkalk), universities (Cern, Aalto, Hanken) and consumers.

The next step in Q3 of 2015 is to scale up the business through large-scale production and distribution networks. The long term vision is for the product to become a well-recognized safety tool for workplaces, homes and vehicles internationally. We also have a roadmap for future product versions that build on the current Aid One Cover. These include various technological advancements that further assist in the first aid procedure.

To help achieve these goals, Aid One is looking for a minimum of 100K€ in funding during the fall. Our ideal investor(s) possess relevant industry know-how and connections. At the same time, we are actively looking for visibility, partnerships and any other means of expanding the business .
