The world is facing tremendous challenges: climate change, pandemics, and a growing population that needs to be fed. Our work sheds light on these challenges by providing access to otherwise unattainable sources of information. In poultry, revealing diseases that are hidden in an early stage will prevent billions of chickens from dying due to diseases and will be sent into the food market to sustainably feed the world.

FAO bit.ly/3gOAJoi confirms the overall slowdown in poultry meat and egg production worldwide is due to animal diseases and lack of better technology to improve productivity sustainably, whereas poultry is raised by approximately 80% of rural households in sub-Saharan Africa, Asia, and backyard farmers in developed countries. Smallholder chicken farmers worry about reoccurring chicken mortalities due to disease outbreaks, they lack access to an affordable certified Veterinarian in real-time and access to a ready market for their products.

We at PFMS have developed a Poultry Farm Management Software App (SaveTheChicken), an ethical AI-powered mobile app that helps poultry farmers instantly detect diseases, connect with veterinarians to diagnose and treat animal illness, and help predict disease outbreaks locations and timing while connecting the entire value chains. To get a quick diagnosis, A Farmer takes a photo of the chicken or feces, the machine intelligence will recognize the disease and it will be confirmed by a certified Veterinarian before the diagnosis goes back to the farmer within 30 seconds plus friendly advice of what to do next with more than 95% accuracy. This is a fast way to know what’s happening in an early stage to react on time. We recently added the Batch manager that enables the farmer to keep track of everything from day 1 of the newly acquired flock to the time sales are made. It notifies the farmers via messages and videos on what to do daily, including vaccination and medication reminders. At any point in time, a farm performance report is generated for evaluation. This easy-to-use technology enables poultry farmers to manage every aspect of their farm wherever they are and can sell their products to a ready market especially as we work to create a more traceable and transparent food system. bit.ly/3qq9xjZ
