By implementing such a functionality, MyFoody stands for a "drive-to-store approach", thus attracting users to groceries' stores through daily deals on food products. We could be able to engage the users/consumers thanks to the integration and exploitation of Geofencing technology for distance larger than 50 meters and Beacon technology when they are in the store. Supermarkets can also locate further products related to food waste in the "non-waste areas", such as books or boxes of tools intended to tackle waste and promote sustainable life patterns, as an upselling strategy. On the environmental awareness plane, MyFoody platform contains a dedicated blog where food waste themes are discussed and sustainability is promoted. Within a win-win approach, supermarkets can improve both their revenues by selling products otherwise thrown away and brand awareness while consumers can save money and apply environmentally sustainable lifestyles. Moreover, consumers may also choose to be socially engaged by making a donation to local Non Profit Organizations (NPOs), which provide disadvantaged communities with food through non-profit page on MyFoody website.
