Apps for Africa is an online contest for local African entrepreneurs to win the development of a web based app for their business
How does it work?
Contestants enter the competition by filling out the F6S form. Completed profiles are then uploaded onto the NubiaNetwork app. From the 25th of May, profiles may start receiving votes through the app. The profile with the most votes will be announced on the 25 June and they will be the winner of an app development package worth $15 000
Who can enter?
Any local African entrepreneur either based on the content or in the diaspora
The business, venture, idea or enterprise should be focused towards an African audience or market.
Any age may apply and any industry as long as the service or product is for an African audience.
The competition is open to all African entrepreneurs and startups
How do you win?
The winner is the profile who has the most votes on the NubiaNetwork app.
We encourage participants to ask their friends, family and networks to vote for them.
What is the prize?
The prize is a hybrid app (available on Google Playstore) to the value of $15 000
This includes: design phase, prototyping, back end development, front end development, testing and licensing the app on the PlayStore.
Are there any consolation prizes?
The top 10 entrants (by the number of votes) will be sent through to a crowdfunding round. Their profiles will be communicated through NubiaNetwork and affliated networks in order to raise money for their development work.
Any money raised for the top 10 will go into digital development of their project.
