When a talent buyer is considering purchasing an artist they consult me to provide an artist breakdown. After researching a variety of data sources I create a report on the artist with 4 sections. 1) Discovery: how many people are discovering this artist? 2) Propensity to Buy: how likely are the people interacting with the artist to buy a ticket? 3) Cultural Relevance: how aware of this artist is the general public? 4) Show Analysis: based on data and financial modeling, give the artist a score in three separate categories-- "Ticket Velocity", "Artist Sales Level" and "Artist Sell Through Score.” Depending on these factors I can pretty accurately estimate the number of tickets an artist can sell at a given price, allowing promoters and venues to offer financially viable guarantees....
