EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
A reusable active disinfection mask for occupational use to protect the wearer from the transfer of airborne microorganisms, body fluids. Mask includes advanced semiconductor UV-C emitters (272 nm) which had been verified to kill >99.999% (SAL 10-5) airborne bacterial and viral pathogens at typical breathing rates.
Intended Use/Indications for Use: Protect patients and workers in healthcare settings, or aircrew and sailors in cramped quarters from transfer of airborne pathogens. Product also enhances biosecurity and has anti-terror applications.
Other advanced feature includes a MEMS sensor that detects the rate of airflow through the air pathway during inhalation and exhalation. The UV-C output is automatically adjusted to ensure inactivation of airborne pathogens at variable inhale/exhale rates. Less reliance on mechanical filtration also means significantly improved user comfort, improved compliance rate and reduced community transmission. Being reusable reduces logistical burden and waste.
