The first version of ageing-aware management software, EMMA 1.0, has been delivered in July 2019 and has focused on Li-ion BES in buildings/district already equipped with PV plant.
The first version has been experimentally validated with three different BESs sizes (6 kWh household application, 100 kWh microgrid, 125 kWh district) and two different chemistries (NMC and LTO).

EMMA 1.0 is able to:
• increase the renewable energy self-consumption up to 35%;
• reduce the ageing of the battery up to 40% and extend its lifetime (years) up to 30%;
• reduce the C02 foot-print of the battery up to 20%.

The software integrates deep electrochemical knowledge of Li-ion cell, power grid constraints and machine learning forecast techniques. We have finalized the patent process associated with our energy management software on 23rd of November 2019 (P3328PC00/1092-001)....
