BARLAB Challenge Horeca

BARLAB (www.barlabmahousanmiguel.com/) is the collaborative innovation platform of Mahou San Miguel that seeks to promote innovation across its value chain with a special focus on technology enhanced projects. With 3 successful editions that have attracted more than 450 startups, this year BARLAB is introducing a business-specific innovation contest targeting companies in their growth phase: Barlab Challenge Horeca.

Mahou San Miguel wants to be an active participant in defining the future of the beer industry at the bar. Through Barlab Challenge Horeca Mahou San Miguel aims to include a selected amount of scalable companies into Rentabilibar (www.rentabilibar.es/), Mahou San Miguel’s platform for its Horeca clients (hotels, restaurants, and bars). Rentabilibar has access to more than 45,000 independent hostelry establishments.

Interested companies can tell us about their innovative project and how it can add value to the ongoing business of bars and restaurants by completing the program’s application. A team of experts will evaluate each application and choose a maximum of 15 finalists to present their project at the Barlab Challenge Horeca PitchDay.

Areas of interest include:
● Bar Business Management (admin, HR and training, legal and others)
● Improvement of the bar experience (service request and fulfillment, context, consumption, payment etc.)
● Increased traffic and retention at the bar (findability, traffic, personalization and other
● Communication and brand image (mass media, social media, personalized channels, merchandising, etc.)
● Loyalty services (promotions, communication channels, advertisement, ratings and other)
● Other services/products that can improve the experience of the bartender and/or consumer

Selected Startups to the program:
● Will be included in the Rentabilibar platform for a whole year
● Mahou San Miguel will encourage the activity of the winners in Rentabilibar, with promotional campaigns
● Mahou San Miguel will use its own media channels to promote and disseminate the business propositions of the selected companies to all of its clients
● Possibility of commercialization through Mahou San Miguel channels and participation in future projects jointly
● Opportunity to expand the network of professional contacts through interaction with employees of Mahou San Miguel, the founding partners of other growth companies, and Rentabilibar bars and restaurants
