Beta Bio Technology sp. z o.o. was established on 4 October 2013 in Częstochowa. The basic activities of the Company is conducting research and development works in the scope of obtaining beta-glucan, fibers and proteins from oats and positioning it in the products dedicated to the market of food, dietary supplements, functional food and medical products.
In May 2014 the Company placed an order with PhD Joanna Harasym, to conduct a research study entitled Method of isolation of beta-glucan from cereals. At the same time, the owners of the Company started the activities aimed at launching the technological process in their own laboratory.
As a result of the conducted research works, an innovative technical and technological solution has been developed. As a result of the conducted research works, an innovative technical and technological solution has been developed. In order to provide legal protection for the results of the research and development works, the Beta Bio Technology company submitted a patent application in the Patent Office of the Republic of Poland (entitled Method of isolation of beta-glucan from cereals – No. P.409942), and then in PCT (Method of isolation of beta-glucan – PCT/PL2015/000172) The method of isolating beta-glucan from cereals, developed and submitted for patent purposes, constitutes a process innovation, which translates into receiving the beta-glucan (1-3,1-4) of the purity of up to 95%.
The subject of activities of the Company, in terms of introducing the results of the R&D works in the production of beta-glucan belongs to KIS 6 "Dietary and medicinal products and food additives of plant, animal and microbiological origin”. At the same time, the highly-purified beta-glucan, isolated from oats, possessing dietary and medicinal properties, is consistent with KIS 5 point II, item 2 “Production of food products for special nutritional purposes and other products with designed nutritional and health properties."
