I am an advisor at Brown University’s Nelson Center for Entrepreneurship, meeting with Maggie, Brown ‘22, since March 2019 about her project, Pointz, a mobile app for bike riders. We meet regularly on various topics such as college, extracurriculars, and Pointz. Our current focus is on defining Pointz’s compelling value proposition and then sustainable business model. Maggie has been conducting customer discovery interviews. I know Maggie will embrace the ACRE Incubator at the Urban Future Lab. She takes advantage of, and adds to, Brown’s numerous resources for student entrepreneurs. Maggie will do the same if she wins the Urban Future Prize.
Pointz is an innovative way to increase the number of people biking, making it a good fit for the Urban Future Prize, as more bikers is a way to reduce our carbon footprint. Pointz will provide reliable, safe directions via algorithms and user data. The Pointz team are avid bikers, passionate about environmental sustainability.
