We are a start-up that found in lignocellulosic industrial byproducts an opportunity for change the conventional way by-products are seen. We use physical, biological and chemical processes and a biorefinery concept to transform and valorize these industrial by-products into molecules, compounds and high-value inputs for various industries, mainly pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food and beverage. The project started with the idea of producing a bioplastic molecule from brewer spent grain (BSG), thereby earning us a position in AB-InBev's Corona Challenge program. As we progressed in each stage, our project was taking shape, adapting and consolidating under the concepts of greater profitability and industrial applicability, changing the focus of the production of bioplastics towards obtaining molecules of high interest such as: ferulic acid (CAGR 6 %), nanocellulose (CAGR 20%), proteins (6.2%) among some others.

We are aiming to obtain products and supplies of high commercial value and reducing the industrial environmental impact, by exchanging the virgin raw material for inputs obtained from a circular model. Our goal is to link companies' visions in order to reduce environmental impact. For instance, obtaining several molecules from BSG (AB-InBev) such as cosmetic grade ferulic acid, food grade protein, and pharmaceutical grade nanocellulose for a cosmetic/pharmaceutical purpose (Unilever/Colgate), food purpose (Coca Cola/ABInBev).
