In it's most basic form, Blinkr is a driver messaging platform. However the overall vision is to create a communications platform that allows anyone to connect with the driver or owner of a vehicle in real time. Blinkr will become a communications hub for drivers and the focal point for crowdsourced contextual information of not just drivers and our roads but the overall mood and sentiment of drivers in any area in realtime.

Blinkr is creating a unified method for communicating with the driver/owner of a vehicle. The unifying factor here is that every vehicle has a license plate number. So essentially this will serve as a unique identifier (like a phone number or username) for each user in the social network that is our roads.

You might point out that DMV records provide info on vehicle owners and you would be right to an extent. The main flaw in DMV records system is that it does not give you realtime instant access to the owner of a vehicle. Furthermore, it does not and cannot ...

You might point out that DMV records provide info on vehicle owners and you would be right to an extent. The main flaw in DMV records system is that it does not give you realtime instant access to the owner of a vehicle. Furthermore, it does not and cannot give you access, info or insights into the current driver of a vehicle who could be different from the owner. Furthermore, DMV records are not easily or widely accessible tot he public.

The only way to communicate with the driver of another vehicle in realtime today (in this mobile age) is to yell out the car window. However if the driver is not currently in the vehicle (a parked vehicle), people resort to writing notes and putting it on the vehicle in hopes that the driver upon return will notice it or even worse, be forced to wait by the vehicle until the driver returns.

With Blinkr, the 'note left on the car window' will become a thing of the past.

Blinkr will make money in the following ways:

1. Ads - By running targeted in-stream/in-feed native ads.

2. Data aggregation - By aggregating data on drivers’ driving skills and ratings, locations, preferences, habits, moods, etc.

3. Analytics - Providing realtime driver proficiency and analytics to government agencies, transportation related companies (eg. insurance, logistics, etc), and individuals on relevant data points such as driver locations, driver ratings, driver actions, etc.

Blinkr is creating a space for 'Contextual Driving/Driver Data' and we see this space to be a multi-billion dollar space. This data can be used and monetized in many ways including - GPS Companies, Insurance Companies, Governmental Agencies, Logistics and Transportation Companies, etc.
