Our current site bookadrone.co.uk launched last year to test the market but it quickly gained traction and we had some press too (www.standard.co.uk/lifestyle/esmagazine/welcome-to-the-pleasure-drones-how-the-war-machine-is-going-mainstream-9639777.html). We have spoken to a lot of investors and taken a lot of advise. Since our initial traction we have focused on getting the new booking platform to market and establishing our KPI's. After our launch we want to raise an angel round. Our current site ranks well across key terms like 'drone hire', often in top 1-5 position. We will be testing digital acquisition channels once the platform is ready and will be in a position to accurately measure ROI. Our commercials are performance based and we charge a 20% commission from the operator. Sheridans are acting as our lawyers and have drawn up our agreements and site legals. We have also spoken with the insurance industry and have an introducer contract from Besso/Lloyds of London to offer insurance products to our operators.
We generate enquiries every day and have operators signing up every week. We believe we are in the best position to take advantage of the new drone service market and have adequate supply and demand to design and build a model and product which fits.
I have worked withBen on previous start-ups and he is driven and experienced. Bookadrone is a clever business model and one that I think will carve out a niche and gain commercial success.
I've known Ben for over 5 years and in that time he has shown both passion and intelligence with regards to his ventures. Having researched the field, I believe Bookadrone is very well positioned to capitalise on a growth market that attracts attention from both B2B & B2C users. Bookadrone has been well received amongst my own contacts in media and, with the right backing, can be a significant player in the coming years.
