PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Business Opportunity Academy (BOA) has been developed to help provide
individual assistance to Small, Minority, Women, Veteran, Disabled Individual Business Enterprise (DIBE), Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE), and/or Historically Underutilized Business (HUB) entities that are seeking help to grow their businesses.

Diversity coordinators and specialists who represent the 15 local partner agencies, lead the BOA, which provides 16 hours of instruction presented through workshops, hands on seminars, and networking functions over the course of four weeks.

The success of the BOA depends on the commitment by the business owners selected.

Therefore, we have specific criteria that must be met in order to be considered for

2. Operating a business for three years.

3. The BOA seeks to include companies that have not been able to participate in
similar capacity building programs in the past.

4. Operating a business in the following industries:
• Professional Services
• Construction/Special Trades
• Healthcare
• Commodities
• Architecture
• Engineering

5. Applicants must include a capability statement and business card for their
company.

6. Applicant finalists may be contacted for a face to face interview.

NOTES:

• Application deadline is January 15, 2016.

• There is a $75 application fee that will be collected at the time the time application is submitted. Applicants not accepted into the program will receive a refund in full.
