By doing so, patients can alert the ER staff and rather than waiting in the waiting room, they can wait at their homes and arrive at the ER when a doctor is ready to see them.
There are many unique benefits of check-ER both for patients and the hospitals. (1) Hospitals can use checkER as a marketing tool to divert additional patients from the competing institutions. By being listed on our portal and showing their current waiting time, (2) ER management will show its goodwill to improve customer satisfaction and this will lead to improve the image of the ER and the hospital. Another unique benefit of our product for the hospitals is (3) that the app might work as a self-triage tool meaning if the wait time is too long in a given ER, and the patient is not in need of urgent care, this knowledge might cause the patient to wait until the wait times decreases. Our app will help eliminate the less urgent cases from arriving to already crowded ERs so (4) hospitals will benefit by receiving higher mix of patients that need urgent care and hospitalization. Since hospitals generate revenue on ER patients who require hospitalization, this application will enable hospitals to increase their revenue. (5) This will also result in a stabilization of patient inflow within the ERs and even out work-load distribution creating a more predictable schedule for ER staff. (6) Implementing checkER to ERs will result in an increase of patient’s satisfaction and loyalty leading to positive hospital reviews.
