CHOPCHOP

CHOPCHOP is a dynamic learning and task management app for the kitchen backed by artificial intelligence. In essence, CHOPCHOP translates how an experienced chef plans and cooks a full meal into an app and replicates the experience of being personally guided by a professional chef in the home kitchen. Our proprietary algorithm is capable of generating an optimal sequence for cooking multiple dishes, reacting to any changes in the kitchen, and tailoring the cooking guidance to the user’s pace based on his/her progress. Beyond the kitchen, our algorithm can be applied to a range of verticals, particularly those that involve managing multiple tasks in parallel.
We believe that by making the process of cooking simple, intuitive and fun, we will encourage more people to cook at home and avoid the heavy and oily foods we often eat when we dine out. To further encourage healthy behaviour, we specially curate our recipes to be seasonal, balanced and healthy dishes.
Finally, we believe CHOPCHOP opens up how technology can be better adapted to home cooks in their own kitchen. Our ultimate vision is to be the central platform for the ‘connected kitchen’, where CHOPCHOP seamlessly activates and integrates various smart kitchen gadgets whenever they are needed.
We are a team of passionate foodies and techies. We met at Startup Weekend London in Apr 2014 and came 1st place with CHOPCHOP. We have since become a finalist at the Venture Catalyst Challenge, a premier pre-accelerator program at Imperial College London and are participating in the European Pioneers accelerator program backed by FIWARE in Aug 2015. We have also won the Audience Awards for at the 2015 4YFN competition at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and at InnovateUK's Digital Catapult.
