Egg-breaking plants are factories that supply the food industry with egg products, i.e. egg-derived products such as powdered eggs, ovalbumin, or pasteurised egg whites or yolks. Every year in France, 6 billion eggs are processed there, rejecting 45,000 tons of shells. In the absence of recovery and carrying a significant health risk, this bio-waste is generally spread or incinerated, increasing the environmental impact of the industry. Our innovative process then allows us to separate the outer shell, rich in calcium carbonate, from the shell membrane, rich in proteins and with proven therapeutic and cosmetic properties. After grinding and hygienisation, we thus obtain two products in powder form, marketable in BtoB for the animal feed industry (breeding and PetFood), nutraceuticals and nutricosmetics.
Circul'Egg thus offers sustainable alternatives to existing, polluting and controversial solutions. Indeed, today, calcium carbonate comes mainly from the exploitation of limestone quarries, while membrane biomolecules are extracted directly from animal products.
