CityFALCON provides individually-personalised financial news content and insights for investors, traders, and anyone requiring access to relevant content. We convert unstructured data into structured data using natural language processing (NLP) and then personalise the content with machine learning. We also utilise voice and chatbot technologies for a handsfree experience.

Our enterprise clients include industry heavyweights like BNP Paribas, IEX Group, and several FinTechs and other startups. Additionally, we serve thousands of retail traders and investors, plus industry professionals who use our platform as a knowledge management or due diligence tool.

We cover 250K+ securities and topics including stocks, private companies, cryptocurrencies, sectors, locations, key individuals and organisations, and macro topics. Users may track any of these on their watchlists and even add full complex Boolean queries, like Apple AND Samsung AND NOT (patents OR lawsuit). Our content and sources coverage includes news, tweets, regulatory filings, and videos, and we calculate and provide ‘alternative data’ that could help investors, traders, and executives at work.

Trending and story grouping both track incoming content in real-time, the former identifying trends and alerting users, the latter part of our proprietary technology to keep response times under a single second and as a basis for our future recommendation engine. Grouping also applies to users, who may be daytraders or casual business reader or sales team members.

Relevance scores (we call them CityFALCON scores) indicate the relevance of any piece of content to any particular user, allowing them to cut through the noise and useless information. Furthermore, filtering of content can be explicitly chosen by users through several filter options as well as implicitly through user metrics.

Tech in the pipeline includes sentiment analysis, article summarisation, spam detection, fake news identification, on-demand translation, paywall-free viewing, archive search, NLP in tens of languages, and advanced analytics. Many of these tie together and breakthroughs in one area will positively cascade into the others.

Our enterprise customers are already funding the business through API subscription fees, and by mid-2019, we will have launched a premium subscription service that opens some of the new features to paying customers, bringing the company to cash flow positive.
