New York City has one of the largest rental markets in the U.S. It is also one of the most complicated ones. CitySpade is set to become the next generation smart search engine which serves as an advisor (virtual online broker) for prospective renters in New York and other major cities. CitySpade.com provides users with 30,000 listings from all five boroughs of NYC while filtering out open listings that require unnecessary fees. On top of the basic apartment profiles and descriptions provided, CitySpade also gives users a space to review specific apartments or neighborhoods they have lived in, which then builds a database of holistic views for available apartments.

Currently, CitySpade is developing a sublet/roommate match feature to help streamline and ease the rental search process. More specifically this feature will allow users to connect with one another through CitySpade via their verified accounts. These user-generated posts will form a verified forum that is much cleaner than Craigslist's. The forum will be dedicated to users who are verified via their Facebook accounts and are looking to rent out a space or someone to rent with. This feature will help users streamline their search process by eliminating the hassle of going back and forth between social media, email and listings sites as most have been doing. For example, on one of the many Facebook groups dedicated to apartment searches, the number of posts already reaches 2400 per month, providing proof of need for such a feature. Lastly, with all the data generated from our features, we are building a next generation search engine with the ability to give recommendations and advice, and to answer any questions renters have regarding apartment search. Our search engine will eventually allow renters to search by commute distance, neighborhood characteristics, and offer valuable suggestions on which neighborhoods to live in based on both convenience and budget. Along with the features introduced, CitySpade will provide the service and solution for every step of the apartment search process.
