Amazing things Corey's made
In 2008 I read an article about using kites to produce energy from the wind. During the next few years, together with a group of engineers and students from leading Swiss Technical Institutes I lead the development of a prototype Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) systems based on flexible kites and ground based generation. We were able to use this prototype to experimentally measure the amount of power that can be produced with a kite and could use these results to validate our simulations. These efforts were financed by a number of Swiss Federal grants as well as contributions from Alstom Switzerland AG. The results of this first project, SwissKitePower, were instrumental in laying the basis for the foundation of TwingTec AG, which was founded by 5 of the leading members of this multi-disciplinary R&D project.
