iBSEN is a medical data analytics software that enables hospital Intensive Care Units (ICU’s) to automate the monitoring of patient vitals to ensure healthcare professionals can provide high quality care through real-time actionable intelligence to reduce deterioration and possible death. By consolidating data from various vendors’ hardware, we can provide healthcare professionals with additional abilities to assess the conditions of multiple patients at the real-time and at the same time, as well as to predict the onset of acute deterioration within a distinct hours.
With the rapid expansion of COVID-19, over the past 12 months many ICU's have experienced ICU's operations at around 100% capacity bringing the system to the brink of collapse. In the U.S, 48% of acute care hospitals are operating ICU’s without allocating intensive care specialist physicians on staff, who manage and ensure the appropriate allocation of limited medical resources, and thus, it is very difficult to deliver advanced patient monitoring.
Although preventing a patient's acute change is crucial in ICU’s, there have been issues such as the risk of oversight and the inability to assess multiple patients simultaneously. In order to solve these issues, we have conducted research and development for three years since 2018. By incorporating the knowledge of experienced doctors into UI and bringing together Japan’s leading AI engineers, iBSEN has been developed and will improve the ability of ICU’s patients triage.
