Datamatrix invented a method of Integrated Metering of Pumping Systems using a new paradigm of Virtual Metering under patent no. 236496.The unique feature of this technology is that “All hydraulic parameters of the pumping system can be derived from the energy signature of the prime mover.”
The technology can be easily integrated to a smart grid forming a ‘Smart Water-Energy Grid’; that can be remotely monitored, controlled and optimized for efficient use of water and energy. The technology will transform a simple energy meter into an integrated metering system capable of measuring all hydraulic parameters of a pumping system such as flow rate, discharge, head, water level, drawdown level, dynamic efficiencies of the pumping system.

We believe that our innovation is a game changer in improving energy and water use efficiency. There are 20+ Million irrigation pump sets presently in India, consuming about 20% of India’s total electricity which is approximately 173 billion units per annum. With just 25% energy and water use efficiency, we create a huge impact on reducing subsidy.Electrical subsidy given by Maharashtra government to framersalone is currently more than Euro 500,000
Trigger for change of market rules
Improved energy efficiency would trigger change of various rules in the market such as reducing subsidy amount, payment by farmers for electricity and fresh investment by electric utilities for improving electric distribution infrastructure in villages.

Agriculture Pumping
Datamatrix recently won an India-Israel Joint R&D Program for improving the energy water efficiency in Agricultural Pumping in India. Total cost per pump including Datamatrix technology cost comes to Euro 950 for 200 pumps as against Euro 315 per pump when system is scaled up to 100000 pumps.
