Amazing things Deborah's made
During college, I was promoted to Classical Director of the radio station, WTUL, at the request of the outgoing director. In my two years, we partnered with several local classical music organizations, interviewed three world-renowned classical musicians (including my all-time favorite violinist), and ran a behind-the-scenes promotion for the New Orleans Opera that was unprecedented in its scope. I also facilitated working relationships with Voodoo Fest and Toyota and managed dealings with four major record labels and numerous local venues. By the time I left WTUL, we were producing more content and generating more revenue than we had in recent memory, and we had gone beyond college radio to the point where other noncommercial stations sought out our representatives at South by Southwest without us having an event there. I didn't do it alone but I am proud of the significant role I had in it. Listeners who met me on the street could identify me by my voice.
