E-mobility is considered the key to reducing the environmental and climate damaging operation of internal combustion engines. However, in order to support the trend of the increasing number of electric-vehicles (EVs), it also requires an increasing number of charging stations. The biggest obstacle to the breakthrough of e-mobility is currently precisely this lack of charging infrastructure, in particular the poor efficiency of the public charging infrastructure (which is often faulty, unavailable, occupied by wrong-parkers). However, in order to support the trend of the increasing number of electric-vehicles (EVs), it also requires an increasing number of charging stations. The biggest obstacle to the breakthrough of e-mobility is currently precisely this lack of charging infrastructure, in particular the poor efficiency of the public charging infrastructure (which is often faulty, unavailable, occupied by wrong-parkers). We develop and operate smart charging software solutions and infrastructure to drive the expansion of charging points for electric-vehicles. Our cloud platform allows EV-drivers to use more charging points and to owners of charge-points to share their charging station with EV-drivers. Furthermore, our cloud platform enables energy network operators to avoid power blackouts in order to save energy network expansion costs. We use data analysis to predict bottlenecks in the power grid and increase the efficiency of public charging points; our unique cloud platform is the first to connect the EV-drivers with the EV-drivers, the energy network operators, the local authorities and the charging station operators. This will increase the resource efficiency of the charging infrastructure for all parties involved.
The three solution components are: a) e3-Cloud Platform build on a Platform-as-a-Service of an international IT company b) The e3-App to allow EV-drivers to find and locate charging stations and pay. c) The e3-Box, an electric-vehicle charging stations with high flexibility and low price offered as a kit instead of a manufactured charging station.
