Echo Active

Echo Active is an online community focused on protecting biodiversity. We raise awareness about threatened species and ecosystems, promote bioregional awareness, sustainability: local and global. We also partner with ecofriendly businesses that create incentives for conservation.

Echo Active raises awareness about threats to biodiversity and creates and shares content about threatened species and ecosystems. It's the only social network that aims to bring together people who care about wildlife and the habitats that sustain their survival and help these people find funding and resources to promote their causes.

As our following grows, our level of engagement with local communities will grow correspondingly. We work with and support groups such as activist groups, wildlife carers and bushwalkers. We also work with businesses such as ecotourism operators and accommodation providers, wildlife sanctuaries, organic food producers and retailers. These businesses promote healthy ecosystems and conservation and provide discounts and other benefits to our paying members. Member fees will be directed to help us build awareness, create content and improve website functionality.

So far, Echo Active has connected with thousands of conservationists and nature lovers via Facebook, Instagram and other networks. These contacts will be fostered and help us grow our platform. We also hope to engage people offline by promoting and running community events such as documentary screenings, habitat, beach and urban clean ups, restoration and tree planting, weeding, and other events that foster a sense of community and shared purpose.

Our founder, David, has Science and Law degrees, and has worked at law firms and a federal government agency. He is a self-taught website developer and coder, has built websites for his own tutoring agency, for Echo Active and for other businesses including a successful bakery. He uses Joomla, a popular CMS, and can code and manipulate HTML, CSS and PHP to customise components used in the website. He has also run social media campaigns for his own businesses and for clients. David has also built a team of collaborators that assist with testing, user experience, marketing and strategy.
