Seedbed trains and supports entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs over a six-month period to help them better understand the needs of their customers and validate their business ideas. Successful participants will receive training at a five-day residential bootcamp, up to €10,000 for travel costs to go out and speak with potential customers; and valuable insights to help them build something customers are willing to pay for - the key requirement to successfully launch a scalable business. At the end of the programme, participants will pitch their idea to a panel of industry experts and receive constructive feedback and the chance to secure up to €20,000 follow-on funding from EIT Food to help bring their product to market.

MENTORING WITH SEEDBED

The goal of the Seedbed programme is to boost the entrepreneurial spirit of aspiring entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in the food system and support them on their customer discovery journey. Mentors will be expected to:

• Attend two days of the Bootcamp in order to receive mentor training; hear about the team’s ideas; and connect with your team
• Offer approx. 1 hour per week of 1:1 mentoring to the team from June-November (total 25hours). This can be face to face, by Skype, phone or email.
• Attend the Options Pitch Training day and Final Pitch event in November

We are looking for motivated mentors that are passionate about transforming the food system and keen to support aspiring entrepreneurs and start-ups at the start of their entrepreneurial journey. We are particularly keen to attract mentors who have been involved in a start-up environment who can provide valuable support and guidance
