The ongoing projects are:
- PhAID (Photo Animal ID) that is the first contactless biometric recognition system for livestock identification and easy traceability. This unique technology represents the biggest disruptive innovation in the livestock sector on a global scale. PhAID technology aims to improve animal health and welfare and to guarantee the safety of animal derived products.
- ADAL (Automatic Detection of Abattoir Lesions) that is the first system able to automatically evaluate lesions and classify animal carcasses at the abattoir. The information acquired through ADAL technology will be used to improve livestock industry practices which contributes to the progress of guaranteeing food security.
