Climate change and its consequences modifying traditional agricultural ecosystems are facts that hinder world´s supply for agricultural production capacity.
WHICH LEADS TO A LOCAL PROBLEM: Currently – as a consequence of past decades´ agricultural practices - soil organic matter has been displaced by the intensive use of chemical fertilizers, and this fact has impacted the natural biology of soil and reduced its agronomic capacities. Continuing with practices will take the land to an exhausting situation which will result in a sterile soil. From an economic standpoint the intensive use of chemical fertilization makes farmers suffer from diminishing returns on their crops and a loss of competitively, that will eventually lead to a raise in prices to the consumer.

Our SOLUTION: Ficosterra was created to mitigate the problems caused by overuse of chemical fertilizers and to promote a sustainable agriculture, understanding `sustainable´ as environmentally friendly as well as economically feasible.
We aim to progressively reduce the use of chemical-mineral fertilizers and replace them with biostimulants and nutritional complexes. Within this framework, Ficosterra has developed three lines of products, manufactured in Spain, that enables a better harnessing of soil nutrients to the plant, 100% natural, allowing a gradual decline of chemical fertilizers and restoring soil´s full productive agricultural potential.

Now we are in the process of bringing to the market our new development: cystium-a, which is the final element in a complete portfolio of organic fertilizers.
With cystium-a, together with ficosagro and cystium-k (our products already on the market), we increase crop´s yields and regenerate soil´s productivity. It is applicable in organic and conventional exploitations, intensive and extensive crops and long-term sustainable providing short-term results.

The unique feature of our technology is a joint combination of microorganisms with seaweed extracts. While other products in the market use either seaweed or microorganisms (not both), we have combined the effects of both active principles in a single product.
