The Pitch competition will be a closed-to-the-public, one day, innovative event that will be held on July 26 at 4:00pm at Union Hall (1311 Vine Street, Cincinnati, OH 45202). This event will help Fifth Third and Messer attain their supplier diversity strategic goals, which include:
- Increasing supplier diversity spend
- Increasing the number of diverse suppliers competing for the Bank and Messer’s business within challenging categories and;
- To create a process for Greater Cincinnati/Dayton-based small business owners to participate in relevant sourcing opportunities

As a result of competing in The Pitch, small businesses will receive one-on-one coaching from Fifth Third (is Messer providing coaching too?) executives throughout the competition and after the competition, they will receive registrations to attend four Fifth Third Bank EmpowerU sessions that will focus on tactical financial information that will help their business succeed.

The ultimate winner of The Pitch will receive a contract from Fifth Third and the second, third and fourth place winners will all receive cash prizes to be used for their business.
