Overview

We are creating a virtual multiplayer community for healthified (adapted to improve its health value) gaming (the action of playing awesome video games), getting inactive people active.

We are two fathers on a mission to get people more active and healthy, starting with adolescent children. Our time as British Army Officers, and subsequently as fitness entrepreneurs, taught us about strategic thinking and resourcefulness, both of which are exemplified by our move to the gaming industry in order to fix the major social issue of physical inactivity. We recognise that people are spending more time playing computer games than ever, but where others see this as a bad thing, we see it as an opportunity to integrate physical movement into an activity they love doing in order to achieve something amazing. As a result, we are creating a game played on mobile devices where players use their body to control an on screen character.

Description

We are employing cutting-edge Human Movement - Remote Input (HM-RI) software on mobile devices to place players right into the action, using their body to control a customisable on-screen character that will seamlessly follow their movements. This will be achieved without the requirement for additional expensive hardware.

Once inside our virtual playground, players will be immersed in a compelling narrative based around contemporary issues such as climate change, forming part of a community responsible for the future of humanity. They will be able to track their progress, share their achievements, and be rewarded for their efforts. Further in-game features will also ensure that our players take care of their mental health, and encourage them to eat more healthily. Our goal is to create an experience of such quality and depth that our players forget that they are getting fitter whilst they play.

Initially, we are developing a playable demonstrator, designed to test our HM-RI controls, implementing adjustments based upon data and player feedback, and positioning the company for initial seed investment. Our next step will be to evolve this demonstrator into a hyper-casual (HC) mobile game launching at the end of 2021, that represents a vertical slice of the Main Title.

Once we have released HC Game 1, we will begin growing an in-house team, who will ultimately develop our Main Title, which we plan to release Q4 2023.

I am an advisor to Fish Bladder Games on the technical and creative aspects of video game production. In my time working with them I have found Jon and Jonathan to be talented, dedicated professionals with deep knowledge and experience in their field. Fish Bladder Games’ goal to improve fitness levels in children is inspiring, I believe they have the skill, energy and attitude required to succeed.

I have worked on an early stage project with Jon at Fish Bladder Games and found him to be a determined and committed professional with a clear vision on how to improve global activity levels. He and his founding team have many exciting challenges ahead, but I'm confident they will overcome them.

As a Heropreneurs mentor for the Fish Bladder Games founders Jon and Jonathan, I'm pleased to recommend them. They each have many years of impressive and relevant experience which they are now bringing to this new business. They will really benefit from joining a startup programme and will be valuable cohort members - they are collaborative and dynamic. Their business has commercial potential and also offers dramatic public health and wellbeing benefits.

I have worked with Jon for a number of years and he has repeatedly demonstrated his ability to combine strategic thinking with getting work done.

Fish Bladder Games is doing important work to help get the next generation more physically active and Jon and Jonathan are well positioned to make this venture a huge success. They both have significant experience in the field and are committed to challenging the status quo.

I look forward to continue working with Fish Bladder Games in the future and hope it gets the recognition it deserves.
