Flaÿou inspirations come from the daily life, and aim to create a self-conscious, unformal design, one that wonder about the right things, without taking themselves too seriously.

Flayou is a cheerful agency and nonconformist incubator, our area of interest stretched from Objects Design, Graphic Design and Environmental Design.

We already created 2 collections :

- Chich-bich is a collection set of 3 games : Chess game, Backgammon, and Checkers. The design is inspired and adapted from the traditional art craft of Sejnane’s pottery in Tunisia.
Chich-bich mean Backgammon in Tunisian arabic, hence the name we’ve picked for this collection.

For the packaging, we played around with the games being wooden cooked to present the full collection in Pizza boxes.

- With the Hamakitsch collection, flaÿou introduce powerful and brightly coloured hammocks, inspired from their walks around the souks of tunis’s medina.
Each new walk allows us to find new fabrics that enlarge the collection.
Each one of the new design is limited to 3 hammocks. When folded, the hammocks transform into oversized bags.
Deriving & inspired from the original South American hammocks, flaÿou creates the first “Tunisian hammock” design.

Also Flaÿou is devoted to the experimentation of new ecological materials and composites, the use of materials known for decades and by twisting materials.

Current research ///

Cork
* Recycling of cork leftovers recovered in the factory during the manufacture. This residual cork preserves is natural properties: ecological, durable and insulating.

Bio-plastic
* Setting up agrosourced or agroplastic plastics from renewable resources, such as corn, wheat and sugar cane.

Paper and vegetable fiber
* Manufacture of paper based on local materials such as palm leaf.
* Experiment the pulp through new shapes and moldings.

Composites
* Mix and create alternative materials.
* Use of agglomerated cork, natural fibers and bio-plastic.
* Combine innovative 3D printing technologies with older techniques such as traditional casting.

Intelligent LED Light & Touch & Connected Objects
* Working in collaboration with the french agency of UX Design "SlashSlash"
