The ‘FOODcy’ project is targeting on evolving the economic, social and cultural farmer’s profile, by a peer-to-peer, B2B (business-to business) approach. Secondarily, is targeting to implement a holistic treatability-transparency scheme through the whole food supply chain for food safety-quality monitoring and the economic dependency of imports. This value proposition stems from the high food wastes and loses from field, the shredding trends of farming industry, the long distance between producers and consumers (because of many intermediaries) and the inability to implement fair trading practices between farmers and their suppliers-clients. Firstly, the structure of deal making between external partners and will be based on demand production. That way it will limit unnecessary waste of resources and the cost structure. Secondly, by implementing strict conditions on deals, monitoring and practicing regulating control on those conditions it’s aiming to eliminate unfair trading practices between businesses. Thirdly, it’s providing resources & knowledge allocation of machinery, water, electricity, employees and on-farm practices, and accessibility to a wide range of internal and interdisciplinary services. It will furtherly reduce the cost structure and conclude to higher profit margins. Fourthly, by accumulating and increasing accessibility to potential buyers and suppliers of goods provided it will decrease farmer’s dependency on both sides. Fifthly, by donating production share (safe but below market quality standards to social grocery stores or in case of oversupply of certain goods) it will highlight farmer’s social profile as a corporate social responsibility practice. Finally, it will provide a 24/7/365 service.
