Fundamentally the problem we solve is one of trust in the Card Not Present environment i.e. almost all of eCommerce. Due to growing regulatory pressure protecting consumers, the pay button can no longer be seen as the place where risk to the transaction ends. Regulation in the Card Not Present sphere has caused the post payment space to become dynamic in terms of risk while also providing opportunities to increase conversion. A set of related problem ensue: decisions regarding payments that are binary and taken well before actual risk has been assumed (delivery); Merchants tightening their incoming rules after experiencing chargeback, so that fear of chargeback leads to a loss of 7-10% of topline revenue. We also address a problem of affordability and ROI helping small and medium sized operations are especially affected by these problems, losing valuable customers (often the pain is hidden in the high rate of cart abandonment - 70% of which 30% due to checkout challenges).
