Genius Voice was founded in 2018 to leverage voice technology's benefits. We originally set out to do this by creating smart speaker apps for voice platforms like Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. While creating these apps for clients we encountered some problems. The voice platforms' motivations do not necessarily align with the motivations of developers and third-party constraints.

First of all, privacy is not the main concern of those voice platforms. This is not in line with what most public entities need. They have to be GDPR compliant otherwise, it's a no go. The interaction of a user within a voice platform also doesn't generate all the data a third-party would like to have.

The second problem with traditional voice platforms is their accessibility. Users have to be logged in by default, this means that someone who isn't registered can't use the application. If they want to they need to create an account that obliges people to share their data with a voice platform provider....

The interaction of a user within a voice platform also doesn't generate all the data a third-party would like to have.

The second problem with traditional voice platforms is their accessibility. Users have to be logged in by default, this means that someone who isn't registered can't use the application. If they want to they need to create an account that obliges people to share their data with a voice platform provider.

We solve these problems by providing a digital assistant that communicates in chat and voice, depending on the situation the user is in. Our add-on works with popular platforms in which people create chat- and voicebots. This means that the product doesn't compete with these platforms, it enhances them. The assistant is essential in successful omnichannel communication. It can be deployed on a website, in an app, in a smart speaker and in a traditional telephone line.

The initial target audience is innovative managers within government and government-funded organisations that have to be extra careful with personal data and accessibility. Another criterion is that these organisations have to have a high volume of online interactions with people.

An example of an independent digital assistant is created by the BBC. The BBC developed this assistant itself, most public broadcasting entities do not have the same funding as the BBC does. That's where our solution is going to help them with. By providing the infrastructure of the assistant in a SaaS-model.
