I am an of Get Media Happy
I have been an entrepreneur since 2007 when I launched an eco-friendly t-shirt line called Tees for Change. I sold that company in 2011 after selling more than 20,000 t-shirts and getting my products in more than 300 stores and 200 media outlets. Since I sold my business I have been working with entrepreneurs at www.launchgrowjoy.com to help them launch and grow a product-based business. I teach them how to get in magazines, how to sell more online and how to get their products in stores. Two years ago I took on 8 individual PR clients and started doing their PR with a lot of success. Other entrepreneurs were asking to work with me and I simply didn't have the bandwidth to take on any more clients, so that's when the idea for Get Media Happy came about. I launched Get Media Happy with a few clients who were paying $97 per month to see what happens and they started to see their products in magazines as a result of GMH. Here's how GMH works - we reach out to magazine editors and bloggers on a regular basis and we ask them what types of products they are currently looking for and what stories they are working on. Once they tell us their needs - for example, a blue bracelet for a cover shoot, an organic shampoo, or a handmade gift under $20 for their gift guide - we share that in our members area and our members whose products are a fit pitch that editor directly (we provide them with the deadline, the email address and what the editor is looking for). Basically, with Get Media Happy, I took a service - PR - and set it up as a cloud-based software that allows brands and members to do their own PR without expensive PR firms. Our company is growing rapidly and we currently have almost 300 members! We are out to revolutionize the PR industry and to streamline the way editors discover products AND the way brands do PR.
