Journy combines two things she loves, food and travel, and it's the space that she absolutely loves. Her goal is create a really unique and exciting experience for users. She is someone who knows this space inside and out.
The challenges she will face, is she needs to hire an engineering team & design team and the market is obviously crowded and also extremely difficult to find success. However in terms of people, she is one of the few that I would back as an individual simply based on my experiences with her and her work ethic and passion for the space.
The team at journey is absolutely fantastic. Susan Ho, the CEO, was my right hand at Fab.com, where I was Chief Operating Officer. She rose to every occasion I threw at her, most notably from scaling our customer service team from 40 people in NYC (one language), to over 120 worldwide, (two languages) in less than a year. Not only did she scale, but she did it with impeccable quality and efficiency.
The idea for gojourny comes out of the founders deep passion for the vertical. I also have known Leiti Hsu now for 7 years and have been repeatedly impressed with her as well. Her network and understanding of the industry will help to propel this business. Amy Guo on the technical side, you really can't get better than that.
As for building this business, I've been a close advisor from concept to today. This team has demonstrated the grit and tenacity necessary to test, iterate and get to product market fit and robust customer acquisition strategy quickly.
