We apply the latest cloud- and machine learning technologies and focuses these on district heating. In line with leading solutions of other industries, it is our philosophy that any optimization starts with a virtual model – or “digital twin”.
The Gradyent digital twin is unique in that it is real-time and adaptive. It provides reliable information on network behavior and gives a highly granular view of the heating demand, even beyond the location of the sensors. Not only in the present, but also in the past and – through our advanced AI powered forecasting module – also 24 hours ahead. This information is shown in highly intuitive maps interface, but can also be used to directly control the system (SCADA) by sending optimized system setpoints on a per-minute basis to sources, buffers and distribution points. The impact that this brings can be over 20% heat loss savings, 10% reduction of emissions due to smarter heat source deployment and up to 30% lower CAPEX by better identification and acting on network bottlenecks.

We have customers across Europe – including 2 of the to 5 lagerts networks. The system can be installed in under 2 months, after which the digital twin model is kept up-to-date as part of the standard service offering.
