GramHeet provides holistic services to farmers at their farm-gate to ensure that farmers’ income increases significantly. We have learnt from experience that stand-alone services are not sufficient to address the complex issues of the agrarian community. Therefore, GramHeet focuses on the following integrated services including storage, market linkage and post-harvest credit. We have developed three village trade centres (GramHeet Mandis) at the farm level. These units are the central point for all our solutions. To manage and operate the storage units, GramHeet partners with local community-based organisations such as FPOs or SHGs. The enterprise is also piloting the Village Entrepreneur(VE) model. It offers its franchise to an entrepreneur from the village to manage the operations, including day to day working at the warehouse, onboarding and engaging with farmers, and conducting quality assessment per GramHeet guidelines and procedures. GramHeet is in the process of diversifying its operations to strengthen its forward linkage is also venturing into the primary processing segment.

Farmers associated with GramHeet have multiple options: store, sell or process their produce. They even have the opportunity to avail credit against their produce. The idea behind offering bundled services is to break farmers free of the ever vicious debt trap with no beginning or end. In the near future, we aim to make farming profitable for farmers who are financially sustainable and have little or no need to borrow.

GramHeet's model enabled, increase in income of 600+ farmers by 20-30%, driven primarily by seasonal price gains. Our digital platform enables women farmers to sell their produce, avail easy post-harvest credit, and ensure their entry back into the value chain not merely as cultivators but as farmers. Currently, 30% of our beneficiaries are women farmers, and their numbers are increasing day by day.
GramHeet model also addresses the issue of rural unemployment of educated youth by creating opportunities for almost 500 youth through the Village Entrepreneurs model in the next 5 years. Our upcoming Primary Processing Units will provide opportunities to villagers, especially women.
Another critical issue that GramHeet addresses is post harvest losses. Each year, India lose about USD 14.33 bn worth of food post-harvest due to improper storage, mishandling, and various other reasons. Our services reduce such losses and enables zero waste economy.
