The World Health Organisation has declared sexual pleasure a human right. However, hundreds of millions of people worldwide are unable to sexually pleasure due to hand limitations (aging, disability, lack of mobility, pain, injury, muscle control and grip, etc).

Over 50% of the physically disabled people we surveyed* reported being unable to self-pleasure, 63% of whom cited issues with hand limitations. 92% want a product designed with them in mind. This translates into more than 500 million in developed countries worldwide.

There are currently no 'hands free' sex toys available on the market. This robs millions of people of a basic 'human right to sexual pleasure', but it also has additional negative impacts because orgasms have a host of health benefits like increased mood, decreased stress, boosted immunity, decreased pain and increased productivity. These benefits are important for everyone, but even more for those with a disability or in aging demographics.

These benefits are important for everyone, but even more for those with a disability or in aging demographics.

We believe that everyone should be able to experience sexual pleasure, regardless of ability.

So we're creating the first line of products that don't require the use of your hands.
Designed to be used unaided start-to-finish, from unboxing to using, cleaning, charging and storage.

To achieve this, we've worked with sexual health & design experts from RMIT University, Occupational Therapists and the disabled community to ensure we have the best design to solve the problem for the most people. Our first product in the range, The Handi Joystick, is currently in prototyping, with pre-sales set to launch in May, shipping projected for August 2021.

To de-risk across the supply chain and go to market, we've partnered with Lovehoney, one of the largest adult retailers and manufacturers in the world. They will be lending expertise in product development, manufacturing, distribution and retail and allowing us to tap into their already established networks to ensure the Handi Joystick is delivered to homes and bedrooms globally from day 1.

The opportunity is a big one - The total addressable market opportunity is 500 Million - targeting those with hand limitations (disabilities) and the increasing aging population, for whom we know the need is most intense. It increases with mass market, where we know 'hands free' proposition is attractive. If we hit only 1% of our TAM, we're looking at $100s of millions in annual revenue.

Advisor, Handi

Heather and her team at Handi have shone a bright light on sex and disability. The have created a positive and honest conversation on having a fulfilling sex life whilst living with disabilities, and fulfilling the human right to sexual pleasure. Handi’s first book of Love, Lust & Disability is a brilliant collection of real stories and amazing art. Lovehoney have been honoured to work with Handi in assisting the distribution of the book, and the development of the first sex toy designed for disabled customers, by disabled customers. There is a huge global opportunity and demand for this demographic, and Handi are leading the way to achieving this.

Heather is an outstanding founder who has built an excellent team to address a clear market gap. The launch product she is delivering opens up a global addressable market with strong revenue potential. Highly impressed with her ability to identify and mobilise allies/partnerships to help the company reach its goals, particularly securing a highly valuable partnership with the worlds 3rd largest sex toy manufacturer/distributors, substantially smoothing her pathway to market. I am proud to be able to support this unique startup as they grow, improve the lives of millions of people with hand limitations and make sustained profits in the process.

I have been blown away by Heather, Drew and what they have created and are building with Handi. Not only is Handi the first ever brand of sex toys by disabled people for disabled people, it's leveraging a massive market opportunity (and huge market gap): anything that makes pleasure more accessible for the disabled market, makes pleasure more accessible for everyone. I'm thrilled to be a board advisor to a startup with such a strong vision, filling such a huge need, with so much unicorn potential.
