HeatTANK is a storage tank, which can accumulate thermal energy in a very concentrated way, due to the melting/solidification of phase change materials (PCM). The market is huge and scalable, it is possible to build in solar collector-, heating- or cooling systems. Only in Hungary, the potential is about one hundred thousand pieces of HeatTANKS in the next three years due to the Directives and tenders. It is suitable for industry on larger scale as well. HeatTANK costs 60% of the mainly used water tank technology, saves 87,5% of the space and gives a more efficient solution for energy storage. There is no other thermal energy storage tank which uses phase change materials in Hungary. The widely used substance for storing thermal energy is water. HeatTANK is more efficient and costs nearly half of the water tank with the same capacity and performance. In Europe existing tanks are not efficient enough and are very expensive for the local market and it prevents the spreading of the technology. Our big advantage is the unique technological knowledge and experience. We are learning from the mistakes of the concurrent companies and could improve the PCM heat storage technology to the next level!

In the present, we have more than 5 years experience, many optimization models and simulations. We carried out measurements on our prototype and validated our models and simulations.
Achievements:
- about 20 scientific articles and conference presentations,
- 2nd place in WSC semifinal,
- winner of MVM Edison incubator program,
- participant in Climate-KIC accelerator program.

Our 2. prototype will be ready in 1 month, with better efficiency due to its 3-5 times higher performance. We are in partnership with Rosenberg GmbH, one of the biggest storage suppliers in Europe. We are thinking to licence the technology as well to a bigger company.

There are many different use cases of thermal energy storage with PCMs, so HeatTANK is only our first product, there will be more, like:
- e-car battery, microchip, server farm cooling
- ski jacket
- nursing bottle
- and more
