HOLONIX was established in 2010 at the Faculty of Engineering Management of the Polytechnic University of Milan, after years of international research conducted by its founders. The success of Holonix depends heavily on the technologies it exploits. For this reason, we put a strong emphasis on remaining constantly updated on the research pipeline, innovation and future trends. We adopt a vast range of technologies for real-time identification of new products and immediate and effective interaction with clients. To meet ever more exigent demands, Holonix assesses, on a case by case basis, the most appropriate technologies to implement in fully satisfying the specific needs of each. Examples of coding systems are barcodes and QR codes, sets of highly contrasting graphical elements through which it is possible to encode data on a type of product. The code can be printed on the product itself or an adhesive label and is decoded by a device that scans the image and deciphers the information. Radio frequency, or RFID, systems, use devices capable of information exchange by magnetic field generation. These technologies allow information reading without direct contact with or exact knowledge of the position of the object or tag. Various types of RFID technology are available on the market today, some simple labels, others capable of operating under adverse conditions or reading and storing temperature data. To interact with the platform operators can use fixed or mobile terminals, depending on business needs.
