By building our clients’ plant in a virtual world, trainers can cover a variety of scenarios where new operators must react correctly and in a timely manner while seeing, hearing, and even smelling the plant around them. In addition, VR operator training also has advantages over conventional training methods (e.g., textbooks, tests, videos) by offering improved training speed and higher information retention. All of this leads to less injury, less releases, and less downtime.

This training is increasingly important to all producers as they go through what is called "The Great Shift Change" where much of the plant experience is entering retirement, making way to a new and more tech savvy workforce. This new generation of operations requires a new generation of learning technology if we are to expect excellent results in the field.

In order to ensure the most effective training possible, we design the VR experience around our clients’ actual facilities so that operators can develop a familiarity with the facility layout and the equipment they will be working with. To build our clients’ plants we either leverage their existing 3D models and transferring them into VR, or by developing models using our 3D database and 3D modellers. On top of these 3D models, we overlay a detailed User Interface where operators must pack an inventory, equip their avatar with the proper PPE, use a map for navigating to the next objective, and other important information deemed important by our clients. In addition, we also have engineers on our team that can help work through and customize training scenarios to suit the specific needs of our clients’ plants.
