What is the problem you are solving?
What is your solution? Is it oxygen (can't live without it), aspirin (fixes a pain) or jewelry (nice to have but looks good)?
If you have an online demo, what's the url? (Please don't password protect it; just use an obscure url.)
How big is your Total Addressable Market, Serviceable Available Market, and Serviceable Obtainable Market?
Why did you pick this idea to work on? Do you have domain expertise in this area? How do you know people need what you're making?
What is your business model? How do you make money? Unit economics if known.
Who are your competitors, and who might become competitors? Who do you fear most?
Do you have the freedom to operate i.e. patents and trade secrets in place, to protect your solution?
Are any of the founders covered by noncompetes or intellectual property agreements that overlap with your project? Will any be working as employees or consultants for anyone else?
Was any of your code written by someone who is not one of your founders? If so, how can you safely use it? (Open source is ok of course.)
Are any of the following true? (a) There is only one founder. (b) A founder is a student who may return to school when the next term starts. (c) Half or more of your group can't move to the Bay Area. (d) One or more founders will keep their current jobs. (e) None of the founders are programmers.
Who is on your team and advisory board?
Do any founders have commitments in the future (e.g. going to grad school, other employment), and if so what?
How long have the founders known one another and how did you meet? Have any of the founders not met in person?
Which Founders will be collaborating virtually on our R3i platform where the program runs during the entire period of the program.
Please enter the url of a 1 minute unlisted (not private) YouTube or Vimeo video introducing the founders.
In the video please introduce yourselves, explain what you're doing and why, and tell us anything else you want to about the founders or the project. The video should be one minute long and should be uploaded to YouTube. If you don't want other people to find it, mark it as unlisted. Don't mark it as private, or we won't be able to see it. The video should contain nothing except the founders talking. No screenshots or postproduction wizardry please; we don't want this to turn into a video making contest. If you're going to spend time making something cool, put it into your demo/product. Please do not recite a script written beforehand. Just talk spontaneously as you would to a friend. People delivering memorized speeches (or worse still, text read off the screen) usually come off as stupid. Unless you're a good enough actor to fake spontaneity, you lose more in the stilted delivery than you gain from a more polished message. Before submitting the video, you should try playing it yourself, and check that you can hear what you're saying. A significant fraction of the videos we get are inaudible. If you're going to apply at all, you may as well apply with a video we can hear.
Paste YouTube or Vimeo URL Link (ex. www.youtube.com/foo)
For founders who can't, why not? What level of commitment are they willing to make?
Have you raised any capital? How much runway do you have left? What is your monthly burn rate? Will you need to raise more capital in the next 12 months?
How many female or female-identifying founders are on the team?
Please advise of the ethnic backgrounds of your core team (Optional)
