Tidal Energy Pty Ltd has developed and Patented a world leading shrouded turbine that captures and converts the "hydro kinetic" energy in the moving water in rivers tides and ocean currents into renewable energy. The technology has been developed over the last 20 years and has been independently accredited and peer reviewed. The technology has received several prestigious governments grants, COMET (Commercialising Emerging Technologies) in 2002, QSEIF (Queensland Sustainable Energy Innovation Fund) in 2005, What's Your big Ideal Queensland 2007, RBDS (Remote Business Development Scheme) in 2009. The Technology is current at the commercial pilot demonstration stage at the Canadian Hydro Kinetic Turbine Test Centre at the Seven Sisters Falls Dam site near Winnipeg Manitoba in Canada. The technology has attracted the attention of several powerful investors seeking to invest. Tidal Energy Pty Ltd holds the master Patents rights via an Australian Trust and is seeking opportunities to market the technology to several potential customers already identified in Canada to supply off grid electricity to remote and indigenous communities. A suitable investment and capital raising strategy is under consideration for the manufacture of units for supply to Manitoba Hydro in Canada to supplement existing conventional hydro dams at twelve hundred sites across Canada.
