EIT Food is on a mission to transform Europe’s food system – making it better for people and the planet.  That's why we have set up the Innovation Prizes - a competition to award entrepreneurs and early stage startups to support the development of new products and services which can help transform our agriculture and food system, making it healthier, more sustainable and more trusted.

This year there are over €200,000 available for entrepreneurs and startups from the following countries: Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Estonia, Greece, Hungary, Italy (only certain regions) Latvia, Lithuania, Poland (only certain regions), Romania, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Portugal, Spain (only certain regions) and Turkey.

The prizes will be distributed at 17 online regional finals with the three best startups taking €1,000, €3,000 and €5,000 in each final. In addition to the cash prizes, participating startups will benefit from high-quality training and expert feedback.

The competition will conclude with the online Grand Final during which the 1st prize winners from all 17 countries will compete for three main prizes: €10,000, €15,000 and €25,000.

Please note that both registered companies and entrepreneurs/teams that haven't yet registered their startup can apply for this competition.

1. Online application process - February 4 - May 24
2. Evaluation process - May 25 - June 7
3. Regional Demo Day finals (online) - between June and July 2020
4. Bootcamp training for 1st prize winners of regional Demo Days - October 2020
5. Grand Finale - October 2020
