I was on the team that brought the first Semiconductor DNA Sequencing platform to market at Ion Torrent. The PGM (and later Proton) platform made it possible to sequence the human genome for under $1,000. The team also published (with MIT) how Semiconductor DNA Sequencing could be used to sequence DNA on Mars.
